Untha XR2000C shredder and facility integration for new waste station

Longyearbyen municipality built a new waste station and required a new industrial shredder suited to the facility. The design also called for a loading conveyor after the shredder to allow material to bypass it when needed. The existing baler and bale wrapper from the old facility were to be relocated and integrated into the new building.

The Solution

Steco delivered an Untha XR2000C and took full responsibility for the integration. All existing equipment was 3D-scanned, and the new building was planned using architectural drawings and a subsequent 3D scan of the completed structure. This provided the precision needed for accurate placement and adaptation of all components. The baler and bale wrapper were dismantled from the old facility, transported to the new waste station, and installed as part of the new setup.

Result

The facility is in daily operation and handles all waste from Longyearbyen and visiting cruise ships.
